Being ‘in the know’ when it comes to new and upcoming trends and societal shifts is a key aspect of being an attractive innovation partner.
With this in mind, and because we at Augur work extensively with innovation in the food and beverage space, we decided to travel to Los Angeles.
We were able to identify the keys for future-proofing food and drink innovations in 2022 and beyond
Los Angeles is not only one of the most trend-forward cities when it comes to food, but also the home of one of the world’s largest food fairs: Natural Products Expo West, located in Anaheim just outside of LosAngeles. Natural Products Expo West is the leading trade show in the natural, organic, and healthy products category – which makes it the perfect place to scout for the hottest new products in organic and natural foods, supplements and ingredients, and clean beauty and home.
The Augur team took this opportunity to spend a week in Los Angeles to do some real-life trendspotting in terms of all things retail, food, and health. We visited trailblazing grocery stores such as Erewhon as well as cool restaurants and hip boutique Pilates studios (a great contrast to an otherwise quite indulgent trip).
The outcome of this trip was a plethora of new inspiration for our upcoming food and drink innovation projects. We really enjoyed seeing the latest food trends come to life through (for example): recovery drinks with adaptogens, candy for good sleep, brain health nut butters, premium sea weed products, mushroom everything, plant based 2.0 etc.
Moreover, we were able to identify the keys for future-proofing food and drink innovations in 2022 and beyond!
