At Augur, we always keep our ear to the ground. Last week, our Foresight and Innovation Leads Jenny and Jesper went to Amsterdam to scout signals and dive into the latest cultural shifts.
The Augur duo attended the Trendwatching event “Hopeful futures” on September 26 at the EYE to seep in the latest consumer trends. This year’s event drilled down on the way AI is rapidly shaping consumer behaviors and expectations, and how innovations can be used to shape healthier, happier and more sustainable futures.
“Newtech is really driving mainstream adoption of AI, changing consumer behaviors and expectations. In this new context, it’s important not to look at people through the lens of technology, but look at technology through the lens of basic human needs and how it can add value to like people's lives.”
Adding an own layer of expertise and insights, the event gave plenty of food for thought when it comes to cultural phenomena and consumer shifts.
The Netherlands is a frontrunner when it comes to foodtech and innovative product and service formats. In connection to the event, the Augur team therefore took the opportunity to spend some extra time in Amsterdam to do some real-life scouting for signals within retail, food, wellness, and more. By bike, obviously! The safari took us to supermarkets, shops and convenience stores, offering up eg. new product concepts that challenge traditional categories and innovative Private Label offerings.
The trip served plenty of fuel and inspiration for upcoming projects and innovation initiatives. We especially enjoyed learning more about the evolution of the customer journey, and how AI will continue to impact and shape new consumer expectations for 2025 and beyond.
